Postdoctoral Researchers

This position is ideal for individuals who wish to develop and expand their independent research program in synergy with the lab's expertise. We expect postdocs to take on leadership roles within the lab.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • PhD (or expected) in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, engineering, or related fields
  • Strong publication record and research program
  • Leadership, communication, and mentorship skills
PhD Students

We are recruiting students to join us in Fall 2027. We recruit from Psychology and Neuroscience programs at UT Austin. We encourage interested applicants to reach out to the PI in advance and/or mention Hayoung's name in the application as potential advisor/collaborator.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (or expected) in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, engineering, or related fields
  • Programming skills
  • Research experience in related fields
Lab Manager

This position is ideal for individuals who are seeking to gain independent research experience prior to graduate school. Main responsibilities include running fMRI and behavioral experiments and managing lab activities and personnel.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (or expected) in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, engineering, or related fields
  • Strong communication and management skills
  • Research experience with human participants and/or fMRI
  • Programming skills
Research Assistants

We welcome motivated undergraduate and master's students from various programs to join the lab. We expect active involvement in research and lab activities. Because we are committed to providing ample research opportunities and mentorship to local students, we are unable to accommodate inquiries from outside UT Austin.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Motivated to learn, assist research, and conduct mentored research
  • For undergraduate students: Able to commit a minimum of 8 hours per week, with flexibility over the course of the semester
  • For master's students: Familiarity with programming and statistics; Background or coursework in related fields
